Student Book Reviews

I have asked students to write a short review of any book they have read to help other students in deciding if they should read it too. Our first review came in this week! I hope to continue adding more each week.
Trading Faces by Julia DeVillers & Jennifer Roy. The book is about these two girls(twins) who move to a new school. They are so different. They hang out with completely different people. One is really girlie and into clothes, the other is smart and doesn't really care how she looks. Oh and by the way their names are Emma & Payton and they do something you don't want to miss. It's a really good book. It is mainly for 5th through 7th grade girls. Reviewed by Maggie, 6th grader.

New Books

We have many new books on the shelves for all ages of students.  Almost all of the books are Accelerated Reader books so the students can enjoy the book while getting points for the AR program - a requirement  for all 4th, 5th and 6th graders.

Fall Book Fair 2009

The White Hall Elementary and North Greene Middle School Fall Book Fairs were a huge success!  Both schools ended up with over $300 in the bank and lots of new books for our shelves!  Thank you for the continued support.  The next book fair will be in February at White Hall and in April at Roodhouse

Overdue Library Books

Students in 7th & 8th grade are having difficulty returning their library books on time. If their book is overdue they owe a three cent per day fine - doesn't sound like much, but it adds up quickly! I always stamp the book with the date the book is due back. Parents, please help your child return their book on time.

NGMSPO

The North Greene Middle School Parent Organization will begin their fall Butter Braid fundraiser on Monday, October 20. All orders are due on Wednesday, October 29. Pick up of the Butter Braids will be from 4-6 pm on Friday, November 7 in the cafeteria. The money raised will help to fund grade level field trips, Accelerated Reader rewards, 8th grade Medieval Times trip, and various other projects. Please help us make this event a success!

Book Fair at Roodhouse Week of October 27

The Roodhouse School Book Fair will begin on Monday, October 27 and conclude on Friday, October 31. Students will visit the book fair in their study hall or with their homeroom teacher. Beginning on Monday, Oct. 20th students will receive more detailed information. Thank you in advance for supporting the fundraiser activity that supports the library.
